How it came to be.
February 2, 2015Our furniture oil as had a couple of different beginnings. It was at first formulated as a paste wax to finish a lot of Fremantle wool store Jarrah that my factory had made into furniture. We discovered that if the timber was oiled prior to the wax process the grain was more pronounced and the patina was perfect. So began the joining of a furniture oil recipe from an English great-grandparent with our paste wax so we had both finishes in one; it took some time to get it right as we did not want it to print to the touch, but still to polish up easily. When we made all the ingredients totally natural is when our furniture oil became user-friendly to everyone, not just to the furniture maker. This also made it safe to use on antique French Polished and lacquered furniture. The combination of furniture oil with beeswax combined the feeding and polishing of furniture into a single, easy process that requires minimal elbow grease to achieve a rich sheen.
Its now enjoyed steady sales for twenty four years, with many of our present customers being with us from the beginning.
